The background of this webpage is my custom spray-painted How To Train Your Dragon Poster that captures the iconic moment between the two main protagonists, Hiccup and Toothless that marked the turning point in the two's relationship. This scene symbolizes the mutual trust, curiosity and bond formed between dragon and dragon rider. It is a key point in the film and one that I intentionally sought out to capture.

To accomplish the level of detail present in this picture, I hand-cut my own stensils using only a singular X-Acto knife, sharpie, and heavyweight posterboard. I traced out many specific computer-generated stensils onto a posterboard that I then hand cut out with each stensil corresponded to a different color layer in the image.

By stacking these stensils together, and painting each stensil with its corresponding color, the image was built from the base color up. The careful stacking of color layers allowed the image to come together, resulting in the finished image.
